The BLSC Training is intended to establish and refine surveyor skills and understanding of the Life Safety Code (LSC) survey process. The LSC is a set of fire protection requirements developed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). This training intends to enhance surveyors’ overall ability to conduct LSC surveys on behalf of CMS. To be eligible for CMS programs, healthcare providers must be certified as compliant with LSC requirements. Surveyors must complete the BLSC Training to be eligible to conduct LSC surveys for CMS certification. Training Objectives: On completion of this training, you will be able to identify:
Training Duration: 32 hours Completion Requirements: This self-paced BLSC training includes a mandatory pretest, 13 learning modules, a mandatory posttest, and a CMS-approved training evaluation. Both the posttest and the evaluation must be completed to generate a certificate of completion to earn training CEUs. To pass the BLSC training, you must score a minimum of 80 percent on the training posttest. Email for Questions: The training is available on demand, online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During the training, questions may be submitted using the comment tool.
