CBTs (Formerly ASPEN and The Long Term Care Survey Process)

Training Description

This A_LTCSP training intends to introduce surveyors to the Long Term Care (LTC) survey process (SP) software application by way of in-depth videos. This training will aid you in developing your surveyor skills and proficiency and your ability to use the Automated Survey Process Environment (ASPEN) software during surveys.

Training Objectives: On completion of this training, you will be able to identify the processes for:

  • Creating survey shells in the ASPEN Central Office application.
  • Exporting survey shells for LTC facilities.
  • Importing a survey into ASPEN Survey Explorer-Quality (ASE-Q).


Training Duration: 4 hours 15 minutes

Completion Requirements: This self-paced A_LTCSP training includes 21 computer-based training videos and a CMS-approved training evaluation. The evaluation must be completed to generate a certificate of completion.

Training CEUs: N/A
