Training Description

The PoDs-CACP training intends to prepare Federal and State surveyors to document survey results in accordance with the PoDs located in Exhibit 7A of the State Operations Manual. This training will aid learners in developing surveyor skills and proficiency regarding writing effective, defensible statements of compliance and noncompliance.

Training Objectives: On completion of these lessons, you will be able to

  • Identify the purpose and main components of Form CMS-2567.
  • Correctly distinguish each statement’s effectiveness according to the specific PoD.
  • Write statements of deficiency that adhere to the PoD.


Training Duration: 5 hours

Completion Requirements: This self-paced PoDs-CACP training includes a mandatory pretest, three learning modules, a mandatory posttest, and a CMS-approved training evaluation. You must complete both the posttest and the evaluation to generate a certificate of completion. To pass the PoDs-CACP training, you must score a minimum of 80% on the training posttest.
