Training Description

This PoDs for LSC training is intended to provide training to Federal and State LSC surveyors who will use the comprehensive PoDs during the final step in the survey process: completing the Form CMS-2567, Statement of Deficiencies and Plan of Correction. This training will help to develop your survey skills and proficiency regarding writing effective, defensible statements of compliance and noncompliance.

Training Objectives: On completion of this training, you will be able to:

  • Identify the purpose and main components of Form CMS-2567.
  • Correctly distinguish each statement's effectiveness according to the specific PoDs.
  • Write statements of deficiency that adhere to the PoDs.

Training Duration: 1 hour

Completion Requirements: This self-paced PoDs for LSC training includes a mandatory pretest, two learning modules, a mandatory posttest, and a CMS-approved training evaluation. Both the posttest and the evaluation must be completed to generate a certificate of completion. To pass the PoDs for LSC training, you must score a minimum of 80% on the training posttest.
