Training Description

This IJBT intends to establish surveyor and non-surveyor knowledge of the revised Appendix Q—Core Guidelines to Determining Immediate Jeopardy. Appendix Q focuses on the three key components necessary for establishing IJ under the regulations: noncompliance; serious injury, harm, impairment, or death that has occurred or is likely to occur; and immediate need for action by the provider and supplier to prevent serious injury, harm, impairment, or death from occurring or recurring. This training will aid in developing surveyor skills and proficiency.

Training Objectives: On completion of this training, you will be able to:

  • Identify the three key components necessary for establishing immediate jeopardy.

Training Duration: 8 hours

Completion Requirements: This self-paced IJBT includes a mandatory pretest, eight learning modules, a mandatory posttest, and a CMS-approved training evaluation. Both the posttest and the evaluation must be completed to generate a certificate of completion to earn CEUs. To pass IJBT, you must score a minimum of 80% on the training posttest.
