Hospital Basic Training Part 2 (HBT-Part2)

Training Description

This HBT Part 2 training is intended to establish the basic knowledge and skills required for surveying hospitals for compliance with Medicare Hospital CoPs. This training builds on the HBT Part 1 training and covers additional CoPs and hospital services not covered in Part 1.

Training Objectives: On completion of this training, you will be able to identify hospital survey methods for, and entities’ compliance with, regulations governing:

  • Food and dietetic services, laboratory services, and physical environment.
  • Optional hospital services, including emergency services, surgical services, and anesthesia services.
  • Radiological services and nuclear medicine services.
  • Additional services.
  • Organ, tissue, and eye donation and utilization review.

Training Duration: 31 hours

Completion Requirements: This self-paced HBT Part 2 training includes a mandatory pretest, five learning modules split across two phases, a mandatory posttest, and a CMS-approved training evaluation. Both the posttest and the evaluation must be completed to generate a certificate of completion to earn training CEUs. To pass the HBT Part 2 training, you must score a minimum of 80% on the course posttest.
