Training Description

This HHA Basic Training is intended to establish and develop surveyor knowledge about the structures and services of HHAs and the various tasks that are part of the HHA survey process. This training intends to familiarize surveyors with the Medicare CoPs for HHAs and enhance surveyors’ ability to survey and document noncompliance in HHA facilities.

Training Objectives: On completion of this training, you will be able to identify:

  • Services HHAs provide.
  • Organization of HHAs.
  • Tasks in the HHA survey process.
  • Frequency of HHA surveys.

Training Duration: 24 hours

Completion Requirements: This self-paced HHA Basic Training includes a mandatory pretest, eight learning modules, a mandatory posttest, and a CMS-approved training evaluation. Both the posttest and the evaluation must be completed to generate a certificate of completion to earn training CEUs. To pass the HHA Basic Training, you must score a minimum of 80% on the training posttest.
