Training Name: Community Mental Health Centers Basic Training (CMHC_Basic)

Training Description: The CMHC Basic Surveyor Training course will be a self-paced, on-demand, asynchronous Federal training for all surveyors who have completed the necessary prerequisites. It will be housed on ISTW. The course will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to survey a CMHC facility—from off-site preparation through the entrance conference, sample selection, survey tasks, analyzing findings, and documenting deficiencies, to the exit conference and post-survey activities.

  1. BHFS—Basic Health Facility Surveyor—Introduction to Surveying for Long Term Care (includes Resident Assessment Instrument Minimum Data Set 3.0) OR Introduction to Surveying for Non-Long Term Care
