Training Description
This BWS training is intended to develop surveyor writing skills, particularly for use in writing survey summaries on Form CMS-2567, Statement of Deficiencies and Plan of Correction. This training intends to build and improve surveyors’ use of grammar, punctuation, and plain language consistent with survey Principles of Documentation (PODs), with a focus on the requirements when writing potentially legally defensible documentation. This training is mandatory for surveyors, reviewers, and all other supplier and provider staff responsible for composing Form CMS-2567 content.
Training Objective: On completion of this training, you will be able to:
- Identify the proper use of grammar, punctuation, voice, and plain language consistent with the PODs.
Training Duration: 2 hours
Completion Requirements: This self-paced BWS training includes a mandatory pretest, one learning module, a mandatory posttest, and a CMS-approved training evaluation. Both the posttest and the evaluation must be completed to generate a certificate of completion to earn training CEUs. To pass the BWS training, you must score a minimum of 85 percent on the training posttest.
