This training is for all current surveyors and reviewers and is intended to expand surveyor skills, representing a step toward becoming an independent surveyor.

Training Objectives: On completion of this training, you will be able to identify:

  • The definition of an ASC in the context of CMS regulations.
  • The initial tasks in the ASC survey process, including the tools used to conduct a survey and the roles of survey team members.
  • ASC regulations and the survey procedures to assess compliance with those regulations.
  • The final tasks in the ASC survey process, from conducting the final onsite surveyor meeting to preparing post-survey documentation.

Training Duration: 35 hours

Completion Requirements: This self-paced ASC Basic Training includes a mandatory pretest, four learning modules, a mandatory posttest, and a CMS-approved training evaluation.
